Hi all

As most of you know teachers across south africa have been striking.
Now, our school isn’t part of the striking unions, so we went on as per usual.
Then last week Wednesday we were told to go home due to the police worring about our safety

so we were off.
phone a teacher that evening
and got told no, stay at home till Monday
so i went into school yesterday, and low and behold we got sent home again.
i have been told we have off until Friday now

so now our exams have been postponed, maybe even cancelled.

I have no problem with the strikers,
As i am a firm believer that teachers should be payed more.
But they shouldn’t start bugging the non striking people.

And the strikers at the hospitals make quite good entertainment.
when the police chucked flashbangs into the crowd.
was classic.

so whilst i was at school Monday for a while, i needed to cut something.
So i didn’t want to pull out my opiniel knife, since its quite large and many people are already afraid of me…
so i ask the people around me if anyone has a knife.
One little bloke pulls out a knife, one of these swiss army knife specials.

i tried to cut a bit of plastic shielding and i couldn’t.
I turned around and told the bloke his knife is blunt.
he said no, its sharp.
so i quite casually slit it across my wrist. to prove to him its blunt.
it didn’t make a real mark. just a minor scratch, like if a twig scratched you.
Now the people who was there think i am a manic masochist.
oh well. their loss. Im probably going to get told i need to get help when i get back to school again…
Its not my fault i grew up in a house where we have sharp knives.
and the fact that i am literally and figuratively thick skinned, thanks to my afrikaner heritage

something else that was quite interesting happened the other day.
I don’t like speaking on the phone for long. It really bores me.
wanted to speak to me, and i phoned her.
we ended up speaking for like 1hour 46 minutes. I found that quite odd.oh well.

I am also looking for sponsors for the DCO.
We need things like a ringbinder, stationary, paper, and other odds and ends, monetary sponsors would be nice as well.
